Courtney Trejo, M.Ed., LPC Associate

Life is a lot. You don't have to figure it out alone.

For little kids with big feelings, teens who say “I'm fine,” and adults who are still figuring life out.

Hi, I'm Courtney. Former educator, mom, neurodivergent adult, and therapist who believes you don't need to have everything figured out to begin.

A therapist, yes. A real person? Also yes.

I'm Courtney Trejo, M.Ed., LPC Associate. Before entering mental health counseling, I spent 12 years in education, including work as a middle school teacher and high school counselor.

I'm also a mom with NICU experience, a neurodivergent adult, and someone who believes healthy boundaries matter—even when they're uncomfortable.

My style is warm, collaborative, practical, and human. You don't need perfect words or a perfect plan to get started.

Frequently asked questions

Questions are welcome.

Does my child have to talk the whole time?

Not at all. Children often communicate through play, art, movement, and shared activities. We'll choose approaches that fit their age and needs.

Will I be involved in my child's counseling?

Caregiver involvement is often an important part of treatment, especially for younger children. We'll discuss how parent consultations, coaching, and updates can support your child's goals while respecting their privacy.

Can virtual counseling work for younger children?

For some children, yes. We can use toys, games, creative projects, and caregiver-supported activities. We'll consider developmental readiness, privacy, safety, and whether virtual sessions are a good fit.

Can you visit my child's daycare or private school?

For children ages 4 and older, local daycare or private-school visits may be possible by arrangement. Visits require parent consent, facility approval, suitable privacy, and scheduling availability.

Can therapy fit around school and extracurricular activities?

Virtual sessions can reduce travel time, and some families find it easier to get home for an appointment than to drive to an office. Any session during the school day needs an appropriate private setting and school and caregiver approval.

How do I know whether my insurance will cover sessions?

Coverage depends on your specific plan, provider network, and service type. Contact me or use the relevant scheduling link to discuss verification before your appointment.

Not sure where to start?

You can ask before you book.

Whether you're considering counseling for yourself, your teen, or your child, we'll figure out the next step together.
